Thanks to everyone who caught the sold out concert Broadway's Leading Men. This one night only music revue paid tribute to musical theatre’s leading male characters, the actors who portrayed them, and the songs that have defined Broadway for decades. From classics like “Guys and Dolls” and “West Side Story” to contemporaries like “The Book of Mormon” and “Hamilton,” this “Brotherhood of Man” will deliver an evening of heartbreak, laughter, and vocal talent.Directed by Joanna May Cullinan. This is dedicated my mom Linda who passed away in 2018. “Dashikis” is based on this photo and the cover photo of the track, taken at an actual picture day at our church in about 1977 or 1978 or so. She did dress me and my brother Jeremy in these beautiful dashikis - and in this song, they are a metaphor for her pride in her family. And definitely my eternal love and gratitude for her.
