Violet is based on a short story called The Ugliest Pilgrim by Doris Betts, about the growth and enlightenment of an isolated young woman during the civil rights era who embarks on a bus trip to find a televangelist she believes can heal her scarred face - the result of an accident when her father's axe flew off its handle when she was 13. Along the way, she meets two soldiers - one black and one white - who end up teaching her about life, love and inner beauty.

Geoff has produced many promotional videos for for local theatre productions. And it all started with this production of Violet. Geoff began documenting the process of producing the show. He taped rehearsals and interviewed cast members as a way to promote the show. He called the videos "Violetblog". Soon he was producing videos for all his shows and the series became known as "Call-Back".

This was the opening video montage Geoff produced to open the show. Obviously the vocals and instrumentation were done live by the band and actors in the show. This short film was projected on the large billboard backdrop that was the centerpiece of the set.
